List of civil officers elected, 1827-1853.

This series contains a list of civil officers elected throughout the various New York State counties between 1827 and 1853. The volume is divided according to counties; under which are listed the names of elected County Clerks, Sheriffs, Coroners, Justice of the Peace for each village, city or town, county judges, Surrogate Court justices, district attorneys, justices for sessions, superintendent of the book, county treasurer and occasionally other locally elected officials. Although the dates on the volume's spine indicate 1828 to 1853, the entries are actually names of officials recorded who were elected in 1827. The volume is indexed by county.
